Cardo Systems and Late open up for seamless communication between intercoma units.

Cardo Systems and Late open up for seamless communication between intercoma units.

Late and Cardo, two of the foremost manufacturers of motorcycle intercourse, have long struggled to get their devices to be compatible. But now it seems that this problem will soon be a memory. Cardo Systems has announced that they have made progress in increasing the compatibility between different intercoma brands, especially between cardo and late-units.

The company previously introduced the standard OBI (Open Bluetooth intercom), which enables Bluetooth connection between communication units from Cardo, Uclear, Midland and Daytona. This means that the units can be smoothly linked without limiting the possibilities of the intercunication. The second phase, implemented in July, extended the compatibility to Late-Units and the latest generation Interkom from the Italian manufacturer Interphone. The connection to these devices is now as simple and trouble-free as connecting to Bluetooth devices from the same brand. The connection retains all functions that are native to these brands (except music sharing) and requires no telephone connection, but it has not yet been possible to connect through mesh.

According to Ultimate Motorcycling, Cardo announced on September 27 that the latest update enables a bridge connection between Bluetooth on the DMC system and late Mesh. There are two main units that act as bridges for other users, which can then connect to these bridge units, probably via the Mesh network. However, there are no detailed descriptions of what users will get. It is unclear if the bridge units connect via Bluetooth and then expand to other users via the Mesh network.

You can already test the latest firmware and let us know how everything works :) One thing is certain - a big thank you to both companies for the collaboration, as all motorcyclists will benefit from this.
